Position Details

Our Candidate is responsible for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of all facility equipment in the production areas. These duties extend to the interior and exterior of the facility. Duties include communicating to manager potential failing of equipment and daily maintenance of production equipment. Equipment will include, but is not limited to laser engravers, embroidery machines and other various production equipment.

Schedule and expectation:

Due to the seasonality of our business, our peak seasons are demanding. During peak times, extended hours including mandatory 10 and 12-hour shifts, and required weekend hours during all peak periods are needed. Flexibility to change shifts for short periods of time may be needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Production Areas: This position is responsible for helping maintain all equipment in the production areas; Daily repair of production equipment, repairing small electrical motors, blower motors on the roof, re-wiring electrical harnesses on presses, replacing belts on embroidery equipment and fixing damaged parts on the embroidery equipment; monthly preventative maintenance on digital printers, laser engraving machines, embroidery machines and more.

Interior building maintenance: Repair and maintain gravity and mechanical conveyor equipment, minor electrical work and repair of lighting in the facility. Minor plumbing duties including routing, plunging, and repairing toilets, valves and sinks. Minor carpentry work required to build fixtures for production and repairing walls and floors throughout the building. Drywall, wall papering and painting skills required; maintenance of furnaces and changing filters on all furnaces.

Additional duties and responsibilities include lubricating all moving parts and repair blower motors on facility roof. Repair and maintain gravity and mechanical conveyor equipment, minor electrical work and repairing lighting in the facility. Minor plumbing duties including routing, plunging, and repairing toilets, valves and sinks. Minor carpentry work required to build fixtures and tables for production. Repair drywall and paint throughout the building.

Safety & Clean Environment: Provide and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Equipment Used:

Personal Computer, Forklift, Scissor Lift, ladders up to 40 ft. high. Telephone, basic carpentry hand tools such as hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, etc. Power tools such as a drill press, band saw, circular saw, and drills.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Associate must be physically capable to lift up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate with the various Operational supervisors and Managers as well as Office Managers and personnel. Must be apt at working on a personal computer; reading information from printed materials and computer screens; the work requires close vision, distance vision and color vision in analyzing machine manuals, working with intricate parts, and working in the production and warehouse areas. The position also requires physical demands on the body such as standing, squatting, kneeling, and bending for a long period of time, physical lifting and accessing a 40-foot high rooftop is also required. Attention to detail and the capability to be aware of what is around you is very important for safety reasons.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee can either be in a typical office environment with a moderate noise level or in a warehouse environment with a moderate to high noise level. This individual will spend most of their time in a warehouse and production environment.

Measure of Effectiveness:

This position provides valuable support to the Operation. The effectiveness and timeliness of repairing production equipment is crucial to the operation. The ability to maintain and repair equipment, and keep it operating is key. The ability to prioritize and maintain multiple projects at once is a must. Maintaining a professional relationship with vendors is crucial to the position.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanical/facility maintenance troubleshooting skills required

  • Experience working on production, warehouse, and building equipment/environment

  • Combination of education, training, or maintenance experience. High school degree is required. Further education is preferred.

  • Must be detail-oriented, ability to work well with others, possess the skills necessary to monitor and follow up with procedures, be self-directed

  • Experience using small hand and power tools

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

  • Must be self-motivated

Preferred

  • CMMS user or administrator

  • Basic mechanics training

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair

  • Maintenance and repair of conveyor systems

  • Experience repairing inkjet printers, embroidery machines, laser engravers

  • Ability to read and follow blue-print designs

  • OSHA certifications and training
