Legrand NA Financial Planning Analysis Manager in Union City, California

Position Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aFinancial Planning Analysis Managerto join theLighting Sector Finelite Teamin Union City, CA. Leads the Financial Planning & Analysis efforts by supporting the Sr Director of Finance in providing in-depth analysis of financial results to senior management to assist in business decision making. Leads the annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensures that budgeted investments are expenditures are well vetted utilizing sound financial analysis. Also, deploys appropriate processes, tools and controls to ensure that said investments align with strategic goals and meet financial performance requirements. Manages FP&A team and resources.

Main Job Duties:

  • Partner with Sr Director of Finance to ensure that organization is properly investing its resources to achieve the optimal financial return.

  • Understanding not just the numbers – but the business activity and actively providing input to management as to decision making and strategic direction.

  • Conduct business case modeling, run deep dive analysis and other ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support commercial activities such as Sales Forecasting, New Product Introduction, Sales Programs, and Margin Improvement projects.

  • Partner with leadership team members and management to actively manage budget attainment and influence investment decisions.

  • Oversee monthly close process. Leads efforts in consolidation of monthly results – including input in consolidation system for parent company consolidated financial statements. Prepare reports and summaries as required for inclusion in other financial reporting.

  • Manage one direct report.

  • Drive completion of cloud-based financial planning tool transition (Planful) and leverage Planful to optimize FP&A processes.

  • Acts as liaison between local business team and Legrand North America / Group FP&A

Qualifications

Required Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • MBA or CPA desired

    Experience:

  • 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years of financial planning / budgeting experience with a demonstrated track record of results.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong financial planning & analysis acumen and general accounting / finance background

  • Demonstrated track record of business partnership and ability to influence business decisions. The ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization and be able to work independently as well as within a variety of teams.

  • Experience in leading teams [finance and/or cross-functional] in an intense, goal-driven environment.

  • Results driven with a track record of success in a wide variety of endeavors.

  • Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload.

  • Curious, humble, and eager to learn.

  • Expert level Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Access or other database experience is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Experience with presentations and documents.

  • Attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and opportunities for continuous process improvements across all FP&A areas.

  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.

  • Experience with multiple commercial functions such as Sales forecasting, NPI, Product Planning, Margin Improvement, or Supply Chain management a plus. [Experience with at least one of these aspects].

  • Minimal travel within US, Canada and Mexico occasionally [1-2x per year]. Hybrid 3 days on-site in Union City [Tues/Wed/Thurs].
