Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aFacilities Maintenance Technician to join theFinelite Team inUnion City, CA.

Finelite is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician as part of the Lean Operations department to perform carpentry, factory facilities and equipment maintenance tasks while keeping the site(s) clean, repaired, and in good working condition. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the candidate performs tasks using proper materials and methods to ensure work is done properly and safely. With an emphasis on carpentry and electrical tasks the role may also include rough/finish woodworking, painting, HVAC, mechanical (forklifts, air compressors, benchtop tooling, etc.), plumbing, general handyman, janitorial, and related skills. Project-level upgrades to site(s) and equipment will be intermittently assigned as well as supervision/oversight to the Facilities team.

What Will You Do?

  • Performs carpentry, woodworking, and painting w/ minimal direction.

  • Performs basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or facilities maintenance.

  • Inspects buildings/grounds according to established guidelines for condition, safety, and cleanliness. Performs routine maintenance and reports issues to supervisor for priority and recommendation.

  • Provides direction and decision latitude w/ the Facilities team.

  • Moves furniture and/or equipment, set up conference rooms as needed. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, parking lots or any other areas in need of attention.

  • Maintains quality of work and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintains recycling/re-use programs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum 2 year’s previous industrial facilities maintenance or experience in construction and trades.

  • Valid Driver’s License/acceptable DMV report. Position requires driving company vehicle when necessary.

    Preferred Skills

  • Able to operate forklift and achieve operator safety certification.

  • Able to operate scissor lift and work from elevated positions including ladders.

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule: days, evenings, weekends and emergencies.

  • Experience with company Safety and Environmental Programs.

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Communicates well with others; clearly writes and speaks to all levels of employees and vendors. Reads and writes routine reports and correspondence.

  • Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Able to delegate work instructions while maintaining general supervision to the Facilities team.

  • Have tolerant demeanor and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Familiar with and easily able to read and interpret diagrams, drawings and manuals of craft trades. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Diligent in finding appropriate solutions.

  • Solid math skills to be able to calculate figures and amounts.

  • Familiar with building automation and energy management systems

  • Observes and adheres to safety and health rules.

  • Good organization skills; disciplined approach to daily activities; takes a sense of pride in all aspects of the job.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook email, Word and Excel.

  • Capable of working in a combination of office and manufacturing facility.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time and use common tools and equipment of the position.

  • Works and participates well as a team member. Operate in a team environment and thrive in a diverse culture.
