Summary:

The Nurse Administrator is a licensed RN with at least five years' experience in a homecare setting, qualified to direct and coordinate the clinical activities of the company.  In collaboration with the Director of Client Services, the Nurse Administrator focuses on strategic management of personnel, patient care, and resources, while also upholding and supporting company and regulatory policies.

 

The role of a nurse administrator is flexible and has a broad and versatile range of responsibilities.  Responsibilities generally fall in two major areas. First, the Nurse Administrator oversees the operations and functioning of the nursing staff and delivery of quality care. Second, the Nurse Administrator is a part of the administrative team, where he/she focuses on meeting company growth and financial goals, compliance with company policies and protocols, and coordination of nursing services with care coordinators and others across the company.

 

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing who has at least one (1) year of supervisory experience as a registered nurse.
  • Licensed as Registered Nurse and in good standing with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulation and in good standing.
  • Evidence of adequate health status to perform duties.
  • Ability to learn and apply professional training.
  • Ability to organize work procedures, assume responsibility and effectively supervise others.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective knowledge of the statute and administrative rules of the state and ability to ensure Agency compliance with them.    
  • Possesses current Michigan motor vehicle license, ability to drive a car, and insured vehicle capable of transport to patient homes or other offices in various weather conditions.           *           *

*Responsibilities: *

Embraces and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Comfort Keepers.

Leads initiatives to achieve growth goals for the Private Duty Nursing program, including ensuring operational efficiency, effective use of resources and the development of new service offerings.

Oversees the provision of professional nursing and delegated services provided by the company, including managing and supporting all field nurses and clients receiving PDN services.

Participates in all activities relative to provision of PDN services, including case management for assigned clients.

Participates in the recruiting, hiring, initial and ongoing training and evaluation of nurses.

Ensures that all nursing staff remains in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards.

Performs record reviews as established by policy, focusing on patient care needs and regulatory requirements.

Coordinates new client referrals, case assignments and case management; assists with scheduling and problems related to staffing; and ensures delivery of services in the initial Care Plan and continuity of care in the home setting.

Works with 3^rd^ party providers and payor sources to ensure quality care and to maintain excellent working relationships with care providers.

On call for field nurses and DSA staff who have clinical questions or emergent patient concerns.

Participates in after-hours on-call rotation as assigned.

Works with Care Coordinators and other members of the administrative team to coordinate client care services, and to ensure that needs are met as client needs evolve.
