Sportsman Boats Mfg. Maintenance Electrician in Summerville, South Carolina

Sportsman Boats is looking for a Maintenance Electrician who will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain our plant,  production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of  Sportsman Boats’ business goals and objectives.

What you will do:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of electrical systems and assemblies .

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

  • Perform electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair of production machines.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years high voltage industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment

  • Technical electrical competence, and the ability to read blueprints, flowcharts, schematics, and engineering documents; drive forklift and use hand tools

  • Acute troubleshooting skills including knowledge of high and low voltage with an understanding of the National Electric Code  

  • Understanding of electrical circuits, knowledge of motors, and ability to understand controls and how to repair them 

  • Ability to use common hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment 

  • Experience using basic math 

  • Ability to differentiate colors 

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work as a team member

  • Advance understanding of electrical operations

  • Basic to advanced understanding of HVAC, plumbing and carpentry

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ever changing environment

Preferred Education and Experience

  • An AA degree or certification in electrical or industrial maintenance

  • Welding experience a big plus

  • Bilingual Spanish/English desirable
