Business Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a technology expert that applies software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology expertise to ensure partners succeed.

  2. Understand and apply deep knowledge of products, technologies, and business to build software solutions to solve for problems at scale.

  3. Work with open source languages such as PHP, Python, and Java to design and build end-to-end applications and/or systems.

  4. Launch-plan software engineering strategies and use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and independently resolve complex technical and business needs.

  5. Troubleshoot partner technical issues in real-time by performing code reviews, analyzing technical requirements, and determining appropriate software and technical solutions.

  6. Write reliable, scalable, and efficient code, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with all appropriate reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans.

  7. Responsible for software design and architecture requirements and feature requests with product and engineering teams.

  8. Build new software products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Product Teams.

  9. Develop software applications and write technical documents.

  10. Conduct design and code reviews, and analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

  11. Apply their expertise and product insight to deliver high-quality project/integration/partner engagements, while influencing product roadmap to meet the business needs.

  12. Guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutions.

  13. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly auctioning feedback from code reviews.

  14. Influence decision-making through presentation of data-centric business topics.

  15. Serve as a subject matter expert within Business Engineering and provide consultation on domain-level projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and three years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:

    1. Open source languages: PHP, Python, Java, JavaScript Frameworks, C++, C, or Ruby
    1. Write and ship reliable, scalable, and efficient code, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability, in partnership with all appropriate reviewers, in manageable pieces with relevant documentation and test plans
    1. Software design and architecture
    1. Web technology stack: TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, or Javascript
    1. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting.

Public Compensation:

$174,430/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
