The Opportunity

As a P&C Personal Lines Product Management executive, you will be responsible for leading the assigned national personal lines insurance business at USAA including overall product portfolio and management, product development, and modernization efforts for P&C Personal Lines products. Responsible for profitability of P&C Personal Lines products. Owns and manages the product development and modernization for assigned personal lines products P&C Personal Lines products. Works closely with the State Management Lead, the Member and Product Forecasting Lead, D&S, Underwriting, and others to inform product development and modernization efforts that support the company’s long-term profitability targets as well as its commitment to member experience. Collaborates across P&C and the enterprise to ensure a world class experience that meets member needs and is consistent with the P&C strategy.

What you’ll do:

  • Leads the design and execution of assigned USAA personal lines product insurance strategy (i.e., building the business case for product adjustments, setting product, and pricing guardrails, and recommending bundling strategies and national product growth targets) and works closely with member experience owners to deliver an industry-leading product in accordance with USAA’s business strategy and relevant regulations.

  • Accountable for the overall management of the assigned personal lines auto product (feature/functionality), ensuring appropriateness of financials, marketing strategy, market competitiveness, regulatory and risk compliance, and efficiency of operation and technology delivery.

  • Collaborates with state managers and other national product leaders to grow products through the creation and implementation of an effective segmentation strategy, product profitability, service standards, and lifecycle management.

  • Works closely with State Management leaders to profitably grow the auto product.

  • Collaborates with P&C partners to develop national and regional pricing, underwriting, and product management strategies that minimize loss.

  • Ensures product team properly communicates the product value proposition to the Distribution team and delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).

  • Directs the member-centric design and execution of Renters and Specialty product features with a focus on end-to-end customer experiences.

  • Oversees the experience and product development roadmaps; balances priorities and resources across products to deepen product offerings, ensure significant market differentiation, and maximize member retention.

  • Responsible for identifying new and improved ways to manage the development process, as new platforms and technologies emerge.

  • Works closely with the Senior Executive of New Business Ventures to successfully integrate new products into the product portfolio.

  • Build and oversees Member Growth strategy and expansion while increasing profitability and revenue.

  • Sets the strategy, builds the business case, and manages the execution of modernization efforts related to the home product, collaborating with the central modernization team to develop and implement these efforts.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

  • Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 10 years of relevant experience within the Financial Services industry, preferably managing insurance products/platforms from strategy to market.

  • 8 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.

  • Comprehensive understanding of product P&L and high level of fluency in MLTV (member lifetime value) and ROI drivers.

  • Demonstrated track record in balancing product priorities against budget and timelines and maintaining a sense of urgency in driving execution.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with track record of developing and implementing strategies that thoughtfully consider and balance industry and competitive dynamics, customer insights, and commercial implications.

  • Proven experience in managing full product lifecycle, from research and concept to release and distribution to customers, and future evolution in a scaled environment.

  • Extensive experience developing, deploying, and supporting insurance product and/or integrated suite of products.

What sets you apart:

  • 7+ years Property & Casualty Product Management experience

  • 5+ years multi-line experience to include renter’s insurance, umbrella, and variable personal property.

  • Proven ability to deliver results in a cross functional environment

  • Proven experience delivering through 4P management - pricing, product, placement, promotion

  • Experience with auto, home and state management

What we offer:

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $ 216,750.00 - 390,150.00.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual
