DESCRIPTION

The Clinic Scheduler ensures that patients can obtain appointments for medical care and transportation. In accommodating patients, the Scheduler ensures that the patient load is manageable for providers and staff and that the overall schedule is optimized to make use of any available time. They serve as a vital liaison between patients and services at HOPES, ensuring maximum capacity utilization. Through collaborative work with providers and medical assistants, utilizing the Electronic Medical Record, they analyze the schedule to find openings for patients and optimize the overall schedule. By doing so, more patients can receive health care in an efficient, effective manner and utilization is optimized. The successful candidate wil engage in patient relations, performance improvement activities and extensive use of computer, phones and the electronic medical record.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
  • Experience utilizing busy phones and multi-tasking required.
  • Computer literate required.
  • Able to embrace and practice cultural respect and humility required.
  • Prior health care experience required.
  • Proficiency with patient scheduling software and use of an Electronic Medical Record required.
  • Proven ability to maintain professional conduct, including appropriate boundaries required.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with all team members required.
  • Able to communicate and listen effectively required.
  • Significant experience working with providers and medical staff required

Northern Nevada HOPES is a nonprofit community health center in downtown Reno, NV that offers integrated medical care and wellness services. We welcome patients, wherever they are in life, and provide them with compassionate, high-quality healthcare.

Our growing l st of services includes adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, wellness and nutrition, behavioral health counseling, substance use counseling, case management, a pharmacy, and more. For medically underserved populations, our one-stop-shop healthcare model reduces barriers to care and increases the likelihood of maintaining long-term health.
