Columbia University Medical Center and the New York Presbyterian Hospital are actively recruiting for a physician to join an innovative Geriatric and Palliative Medicine inpatient consult interdisciplinary team in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Aging of the Department of Medicine at The Allen Hospital in northern Manhattan. This unique opportunity allows for dual Geriatric and Palliative Medicine fellowship trained physicians to advance and define the growing field of Geriatric Palliative Medicine. Applicants interested in developing academic careers in Geriatric and Palliative Medicine are particularly encouraged to apply. There are many academic medicine opportunities including providing education during elective rotations for the Columbia University Medical Center residency and fellowship programs in geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, and dual geriatric/palliative medicine. The Geriatric and Palliative Medicine inpatient consult interdisciplinary team consists of physician, nurse practitioner, social work, and chaplain representation as well as collaboration with the Hospice physician, registered nurse, and social work interdisciplinary team for patients admitted for general inpatient hospice level of care. Minimum Degree: M.D. or equivalent medical Professional degreeMinimum Qualifications: Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Medicine with a valid New York State License.
