Aston Carter Accounting Associate in New Milford, Connecticut

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate computer and related programs to provide support.

  • Process accounts payable invoices (Inventory/ Non-Inventory) on a timely basis, along with preparing invoices for payment.

  • Respond to vendor inquires in a timely manner.

  • Generate daily customer invoicing along with updating all related reports.

  • Respond to customer inquiries in an efficient manner.

  • Prepare and process cash receipts on the financial system and update all related reports.

  • Process Inventory transactions with appropriate approval as needed

  • Maintain general ledger and journals on computer to include monitoring accounts for discrepancies. This also includes month-end account reconciliations.

  • Assist with accounting department responsibilities (data entry, copying, collating, filing, organizing, etc.) as needed.

  • Provide back up support on the company phone system

  • Support Operations Team on Duty Drawback duties as required

  • Responsible for ordering all office related supplies (Paper goods, office supplies, etc.)

Experience with:

  • Accounting assistant duties

  • Excel

  • Journal entries

  • Accounts payable invoices

  • Accounts receivable invoices

  • Cash receipts

  • Billing

  • Filing

Additional Information

  • This role is for succession at the company, want to train this person over next 5 years to take over Accounting Team

  • Working directly with Accounting Manager, Controller, and the Opps Director

  • This position will be onsite based in the company’s New Milford, CT site location.
