Since the opening of the first Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, Texas, in 1993, the name “Bob’s” has been synonymous with a great steakhouse experience. Building on the reputation we earned at our original Dallas location, Bob’s has opened restaurants nationwide that offer the best cuts of meat available. Bob's Steak & Chop House offers competitive rates, growth opportunities, health insurance and is open for dinner only and closed on Sundays and closed most major holidays.

This position delivers prompt, friendly, courteous service to Guests ensuring all order for guests and servers are done accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • To follow, enforce, comply and adhere to all Bob’s Steak & Chop House rules, policies, procedures, standards and recipes always.

  • Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.

  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.

  • Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.

  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests.

  • Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order, and adhere to cash handling standards .

  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.

  • Present accurate check to guest and process payment.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.

  • Clean and set up tables.

  • Polish and clean the water glasses in his/her assigned station before opening hours.

  • Station set -up and breakdown/side-work.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.

  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year fine dining serving experience, preferably in a steak house.

  • Must be TABC certified.

  • Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.

  • Previous cash handling experience required.

  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.

  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.

  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
