Position Summary:

Math Solutions Support Faculty are twelve (12) month, non-rank eligible faculty positions. The Math Solutions Center (MSC) offers both online and campus section options for college-prep math courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, as well as other forms of student math remediation support year-round. During the fall and spring semester, the MSC is open in two locations Monday through Saturday.

In addition to providing instruction and direct student support, this MSC Support Faculty supports the MSC operations in the following areas:

• Analysis of student outcomes and program review

• Semester preparation and closeout activities

• Lab oversite

• Design and implementation of mini-courses and student supports

• Design and implementation of high school college-prep math courses

Essential Functions:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Facilitate 15 – 20 hours of in-person, hybrid or online instruction/math coaching and monitoring/reporting of progress/grades for assigned students (as applicable) during each regular semester and summer term.

• Maintain availability to assigned students in-person, virtually, by phone, and by e-mail.

• Remain current on math requirements and math courses available at CWI.

• Assist with preparation of materials needed for section instructors, diagnostic testing, and math coaching.

• Prepare and facilitate targeted math content workshops and Blackboard Badges for math students across the college as needed.

• Actively participate on the MSC faculty team to ensure continuous improvement of services and support.

• Establish interdepartmental relationships to encourage student success.

• Assist with Campus and Online scheduling assignments as needed.

• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Data Management and LMS Duties

• Manage relevant data related to each student's placement and mathematical pathway.

• Build and maintain spreadsheets to track and analyze data.

• Track and report student progress in the Learning Management System (LMS).

• Help build and maintain LMS course shell, including assignments for establishing student attendance/participation and gradebook for management of student progress data.

• Ensure accuracy of student data shared with relevant college departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Mathematics; Education with an emphasis in mathematics, science, or related field or a Master's degree with minimum of 12 graduate-level math credits.

• Experience using technology to aid in content delivery and student data management.

• Experience with spreadsheet tools for data reporting purposes.

• Experience with learning management software

• Experience teaching or supporting students at a comprehensive community college preferred.

• Ability to support a highly diverse faculty and student body.

• Ability to foster a positive, welcoming environment where students are comfortable seeking academic guidance.

• Evidence of organizational skills
