ITW Knitting Machine Operator in Mount Airy, North Carolina

This role is for 2nd shift. Hours are from 3pm-11pm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Patrol all assigned machines checking for quality problems.

  • Check for thread paths, Roll size, correct yarn lots and cleanliness.

  • Tie yarn on creel as necessary.

  • Doff roll when completed.

  • Check counter and move roll to doff gate.

  • Open gate and clean as needed.

  • Cut fabric and tuck in sides of roll.

  • Roll fabric onto sleeve and lock in place.

  • Clean machine and start-up machine.

  • Move roll on dolly to scale.

  • Weigh roll and stamp ticket with weight.

  • Move roll to staging skid - keep segregated by style.

  • Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6-12 months knitting experience in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Basic math and computer skills required.

  • Must be able to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.

  • Must be able to regularly stand, stoop, kneel and lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills required.
