JOB REQUIREMENTS: Surgical Recovery Specialist - 31353 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work Schedule : Part-time per diem position. 12-15, 24 hour call days per month. Days, weekends and holidays required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking a Surgical Recovery Specialist to assist with the recovery and preservation of the heart and lungs for transplant . The UW Organ and Tissue Donation (OTD) service is recognized as one of the most successful organ procurement programs in the nation. We are seeking a Surgical Recovery Specialist to: * Travel around the country to assist UW organ recovery surgeons with the removal of organs for transplant, research, etc. according to UW OTD established protocols and procedures. * Work with specialized devices and procedures to preserve organs for transplant. * Assist with organ preservation and diagnostic testing . * Discuss the organ donation process and provide onsite support to donor hospital, transplant and OPO staff . Individuals with considerable relevant clinical and surgical experience may be considered. Work Experience : Minimum - Five (5) years of relevant clinical and/or surgical experience Preferred - AB-SRS - Experience in abdominal organ procurement and/or transplantation. CT-SRS - Experience in cardiothoracic organ procurement and/or transplantation.
