Our Veteran\'s Thrift Store supports veteran services and programs, ensuring that those who served our country receive the assistance they need.\ \ Job Summary:\ We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated veteran to join our team as the Furniture Manager & Pickup/DeliverIies. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our store and involves managing furniture inventory, pickups and deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. Your commitment to helping fellow veterans and community members will make a significant impact.\ \ Key Responsibilities:\ \ 1. Furniture Management:\ - Oversee the receipt, display, and sale of furniture items.\ - Maintain an organized, appealing, and clean furniture section.\ - Ensure all furniture is in good condition and priced accurately.\ - Manage inventory levels, including conducting regular stock checks and updating records.\ \ 2. Pickups and Deliveries:\ - Coordinate and schedule pickups of donated furniture from donors locations.\ - Arrange deliveries of purchased furniture to customers homes.\ - Ensure the timely and efficient completion of pickups and deliveries.\ - Communicate with donors and customers to confirm schedules and address any concerns.\ \ 3. Customer Service:\ - Assist customers with furniture selections and provide information on products.\ - Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to furniture sales or deliveries.\ - Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all customers, especially fellow veterans.\ \ 4. Team Collaboration:\ - Work closely with store staff and volunteers to ensure a cohesive team environment.\ - Train and supervise volunteers assisting with furniture management and logistics.\ - Collaborate with the store manager to improve operations and customer experience.\ \ Qualifications:\ \ - Veteran Status: Must be a veteran. Your understanding and empathy towards fellow veterans are crucial for this role.\ - Compassionate Nature: Demonstrated ability to empathize with and support customers, especially veterans.\ - Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move furniture items as required.\ - Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.\ - Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\ - Valid Drivers License: Clean driving record and the ability to operate delivery vehicles.\ - Experience: Previous experience in retail, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
