Summary You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST EXAMINING WORKER in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION AND NDT DIVISION (CODE 135.2), QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will perform routine work of a Nondestructive Tester. You will be trained to complete duties for hazardous waste management. You must qualify and certify as a radiation worker. You will complete work using work orders, blueprints, sketches, written instructions or any combination of these methods. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: * Ability to perform the work of Nondestructive Testing and complete visual inspections, magnetic particle inspections, and liquid penetrant inspections. * Making adjustments and calibrations to Nondestructive Testing equipment. * Interpreting NDT test results based on Nondestructive Testing approved criteria. * Ability to use Nondestructive Testing equipment such as MT yokes, scales, protractors, and magnification lenses. * Reading blueprints, sketches, and Nondestructive Testing technical manuals to understand the functions of the parts of a system.
