JOB REQUIREMENTS: We have two openings. Each position is PT but the two roles can be combined for FT work, or in combination with other farm work. DELIVERY DRIVER (PT, or FT with other farm work) - Deliver produce to Madison in our trucks on Tuesday and Friday. - An insurable driving record is required. ASSISTANT FARMER / HANDYPERSON (PT, or FT with other farm work) We are looking for the right person to fill an important support role on our farm. Tasks range from field operations to building maintenance. You will encounter a broad range of interesting machinery, crops, jobs, and responsibilities. - Candidates must be experienced in operating farm machinery. - In addition, these skills are valued but not required: machinery maintenance & repair, or carpentry, or building maintenance. - Candidates must be physically fit. - This PT position generally falls during Monday Friday but tasks can be scheduled for evenings and weekends if that is when you are available. - Our growing season runs April/May November. This is a year-round position for the right person, with part-time work available December March. - We do not provide housing. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Delivery drivers must have an insurable driving record. Assistant Farmer candidates must be experienced in operating farm machinery. We strongly value experience with machinery maintenance & repair, as well as building maintenance.
