Robert Half Systems Administrator in Eugene, Oregon

Description

Robert Half is searching for an IT Systems Administrator for a credit union client with headquarters/offices in Washington and Oregon. The primary responsibility of this IT Systems Administrator is to administer, install, and configure advanced enterprise systems for a wide range of technology including but not limited to: Microsoft, Office 365, configuration management systems, server hardware, storage systems, backups, security platforms, monitoring and any enterprise technologies utilized by the client. This is a long-term contract (6 months) that would be primarily remote; there would be some need to go onsite if located in reasonable commuting distance from Eugene, OR or Lacey, WA.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced support, escalations, automation, patching, upgrades, alerting, and configuration management.

  • Assist with the development and management of new technical solutions used by the credit union.

  • Coordinate communications for critical events and document all milestones in support system.

  • Escalate issues when deemed beyond second level scope or skills or when unable to resolve. Follow up to assure issue resolution. Document the resolution so future issues may be resolved at the first Systems level.

  • Follow up to make sure outstanding problems are being resolved, communicate to the stakeholder all updates through the ticketing system including triage/resolution specifics.

  • Maintain well-developed working knowledge of the assigned duties and job functions; keep up to date and request additional training and/or development as needed.

  • Make judgment resolving issues of a technical nature, referring any complex issues to the appropriate team member’s/SME’s.

  • Manage and contribute to the development of existing support systems, centralized enterprise knowledge base, and enterprise automation initiatives.

  • Participate in departmental and enterprise projects as assigned.

  • Provide intermediate level training and mentorship to Systems Administrator I and IT Teams.

  • Report pertinent information and statistics to management in order to identify common problems/trends and recommends areas where training and documentation can be improved.

  • Schedule and install updates/upgrades to various enterprise infrastructure systems as required.

  • Support, coordinate, and work with the Networking, Helpdesk, Development, and Information Security Teams.

  • Thoroughly troubleshoot issues prior to escalating to the Systems Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant Systems experience

  • Proven experience leading projects, working on domain migrations, and/or have participated in working on mergers

  • Expertise working with Windows OS and Windows Server (up to current versions)

  • Proficiency with Azure (Azure Console, security, IaaS machines, etc.)

  • Experience working hands-on with VMware and vCenter

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft 365

  • Strong understanding of Networking concepts and hardware: Cisco, LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing, switching, etc.

  • Previous experience with managing and maintaining patching updates

  • Experience working with ticketing systems - being able to prioritize and document

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Driven to complete tasks and motivated to stay productive in a high-volume environment

  • Nice to have: Familiarity with Linux/Unix machines
