The position of Imaging Supervisor serves the patients, providers, support staff and other Optum Medical Group employees by fulfilling the essential duties and responsibilities of the position as detailed below. With the assistance of the Imaging Manager, this position supervises approximately 30 employees in the Imaging Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assists the Imaging Manager in the development of strategic and tactical goals to provide premier Imaging services to patients that supports the overall goal of the organization to create superior patient service
Assigns, schedules and reviews the work of medical imaging and related staff to maintain patient flow, achieve production goals, and conform to established protocols and procedures
Confers with medical staff and technologists concerning medical imaging techniques and procedures
Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment (x-ray, DEXA, Mammography, CT, Fluoro, US, MRI), evaluates accuracy and quality of images, and provides technical assistance
Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff
Evaluates training program for medical imaging staff and conducts and arranges for training as appropriate
Designs and supervises training for radiological students
Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements
Coordinates purchase of supplies
Assists Manager in Planning, directing, and monitoring quality assurance program to conform to federal, state, local, and clinic regulations and guidelines
Consults on work in progress and completed work to assure accuracy
Reviews current literature and attend meetings and seminars to keep informed of new developments in field
Offers in-service education to other departments and medical staff in radiation safety and various radiological and imaging procedures
Exemplifies and models the mission vision and values of the organization

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school
Meets the requirements for licensure by the ARRT
Healthcare level BLS/CPR certification
5+ years of related experience as an imaging technologist
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of supervisory experience
Experience with an electronic medical record system
