Gopher Resource LLC Maintenance Supervisor in Eagan, Minnesota

Description Position Purpose: The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership, direction and coordination in the planning, implementation and improvement of the Asset Management Process with focus on execution of the daily, weekly and major repair schedules. This position is scheduled 4 days on/4 days off 6am-6pm. Critical Success Criteria: Support the team modeling our core values ensuring all work is only done once we have made sure the job is safe. Support a team-centric approach to the maintenance function on a given shift. Model a service-focused approach to balancing the shift plan with the emergent reactive work that comes with each shift. Work with the Planner/Scheduler to understand the goals for the current shift and clearly communicates a plan to the technicians on the floor. Work with the technicians on short- and long-term developmental goals looking for opportunities to build skill and grow everyone's understanding of the Plant and Production Process. Daily Responsibilities: Supervise maintenance crew members and verify work is being done safely, correctly, and efficiently Provide leadership in facilitating change Assign scheduled and emergency break-in work to the crew Responsible for timely and accurate closure of work orders including coding and parts consumed Review maintenance schedule with Maintenance Planner Work with Maintenance Planner on staging of parts Work with production supervisors on root cause and downtime issues Responsible for the execution of preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules Work with outside contractors on planned work and on safety/environmental required PM's Monitor and reports departmental metrics Work closely with Maintenance Planner to assist in the planning process Work with production and maintenance on plant/process training needs Provide onsite expertise Develop and update work procedures Participate in all safety programs to help reduce accidents throughout the plant Sit on and participate in meetings, teams, and training seminars All other duties and projects as assigned by management Requirements: High School Diploma or GED minimally required 5+ years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in an industrial plant 3+ years of previous supervisory experience of an hourly workforce in a manufacturing setting Strong understanding of workplace safety rules and regulations Technical proficiency with CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) systems Aptitude to read, write, understand, and follow technical instructions and drawings; ability to read and understand blueprints Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with Wonderware, Mainsaver, and MS Project preferred, but not required Previous experience with PLCs preferred, but not required Previous experience with continuous improvement strongly preferred, but not required Previous experience with reliability maintenance preferred, but not required Physical Work Requirements: Ability and willingness to wear respiratory protection directly against skin with or without reasonable accommodation Ability and willingness to move about the plant, including climbing a flight of stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability and willingness to work in a hot production area wearing protective clothing with or without reasonable accommodation Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
