Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Privacy and Data Architect in Durant, Oklahoma
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Architect designs and monitors privacy and security architecture to ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA and other applicable regulatory standards. You will collaborate with relevant teams to assess risks, develop controls, and test adherence to regulatory requirements. You will report to the Privacy Officer.
Primary Tasks:
You will assess and contribute to the design and implementation of internal controls using knowledge of IT architecture, engineering, security, and compliance practices.
You will develop and maintain knowledge of changes in legislation and leading business practices related to IT compliance including engaging with legislation at all levels and understanding the possible effects these changes will have on our organizational practices.
You will evaluate organizational compliance risks and make recommendations; collaborate with departments for policy and procedural improvements.
You will coordinate annual audit processes; identify important risk areas such as HIPAA, HITRUST, GLBA, CCPA, FERPA, and PCI for auditing.
You will review and create procedures to ensure regulatory compliance standards are met in a satisfactory manner that can be reported and monitored.
You will monitor copyright, patents, and trademarks for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma to ensure compliance of intellectual property protection.
You will use emerging technology including artificial intelligence, network and cybersecurity, infrastructure resilience, and cloud computing to monitor the privacy and security architecture to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
You will negotiate and draft agreements such as Data Processing Agreements and Information Security Addenda that meet organizational needs and compliance standards and provide detailed advice regarding these to internal stakeholders.
You will manage advanced inquiries and escalations related to privacy, security, and data protection from customers and vendors; ensure communication and resolution.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or law related field orequivalent combination of education and experience of nine [9] years
Equivalent combination of education and experience of nine [9] years
One [1] professional certification in IT (TOGAF, ITIL, HCISSP)
Strong knowledge of intellectual property rights and data protection
Two [2] years of experience in contract law or a current law student
Five [5] years of experience in data privacy and security
