Matrix Human Services Facilities Technician in Detroit, Michigan

JOB SUMMARY / ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Facilities Technician provides support to the maintenance team at their location. The Facilities Technician is responsible for the oversight of building maintenance. The Technician must maintain systems for the center(s), as well as complete and maintain center inventory. This position is also responsible for the oversight of storage areas and the maintenance of all equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the completion and maintenance of inventory at perspective centers.
  • Report maintenance problems.
  • Responsible for moving of furniture and equipment.
  • Supervise food deliveries and assist when necessary.
  • Maintain the stockroom and monitor the distribution of supplies and equipment to centers.
  • Assist in custodial duties when necessary.
  • Assisted in monitoring and evaluating custodial staff.
  • Assist Facilities Director in acquiring bids and contracts for building maintenance and vehicle repair services, if necessary.
  • Must participate in program and community events sponsored by the agency.
  • Must be involved in ongoing professional development.
  • Active participation in community meetings and boards as a representative of the agency.
  • Monitor the workflow of our work order process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of two (2) years Maintenance/Custodial experience required.
  • Three (3) years of Supervisory experience preferably in a non-profit head start organization.
  • Clear driving records to drive company vehicles between site locations.
  • Previous experience in operating industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements.

WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • High level of daily repetitive motion.
  • Standing and walking for most of an 8-hour workday.
  • Frequent daily bending and may lift of up to 50 lbs.
