Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking mission-minded Associates to join us as a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Float Health Care Assistant to serve our patients across Central Ohio in our Franklinton, North Columbus, Mansfield, Athens, Toledo, and Virtual Health Centers. SUMMARY Performs a variety of client care services in accordance with agency policies and in a courteous and professional manner between all Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio's health centers. Provides general health and contraceptive information, abortion information to clients, assists with abortion procedures and performs clerical functions, while ensuring quality client care and excellent customer service. Must be pleasant, courteous, and helpful. Requires an understanding of and commitment to quality healthcare and excellence in customer service; practice these values in relation to internal and external customers. Supports the revenue cycle through accurately and effectively managing cash collections, verifications, sliding fee scale, daily closing procedures, and charge closing procedures, and other related processes. Other duties may be assigned. Attends in-service workshops, seminars, and staff meetings. Competently utilize the computerized client information system for appointment scheduling, entering client visit data, collecting client fees and providing /printing client receipts. Conducts verbal history and appropriate screening for medical record documentation. Collects, posts, and reconciles payments per all PPGOH billing and financial policies. Collects and prepares lab specimens, including venipuncture and urine collection. Manages medical waste utilizing universal precautions. Maintains accurate records for patient registration, medical records, lab testing, etc. Maintains confidentiality and exercises sensitivity in a nonjudgmental manner when dealing with sexuality and sensitive issues with clients. Provides abortion clients with accurate information regarding PPGOH services, including questions pertaining to abortion and contraception options as well as funding sources.
