Job ID 12509 Location Case Main Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVE The Executive Director of the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning at Case Western Reserve University will provide leadership and oversight that ensures a strong vision for the center that is in alignment with university priorities, as well as support a dedicated staff and build on sound and sustainable financial operations. The executive director reports directly to the Provost's Office (the Provost and/or her designee). This position entails responsibility for development and community support, and management of the planning and implementation of the university's Lifelong Learning Programs. A component of the executive director's responsibilities is management of the Jewish Lifelong Learning programming within the overall Lifelong Learning Operation. This is a critical position for the educational and community-centered priorities of Case Western Reserve University. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Work with the Office of the Provost, university leadership, and the Siegal Advisory Board to develop a compelling vision for the future of the center. Implement strategic plans for current and future operations. Success will involve collaboration with key university, community, and national stakeholders to develop and implement an impactful long-term vision for Siegal Lifelong Learning at Case Western Reserve University. (20%) Engage with constituents interested in lifelong learning in general, as well as continuing education in Jewish Studies more specifically. Work with staff to engage in topics that may fall outside of the traditional university curriculum, but yet are important hallmarks of a high-quality continuing education program with an informed and educated local community. This includes building an understanding of market needs locally, nationally, and/or internationally as well as serving as the external representative to those communities interested in such learning. It also includes understanding the Case Western Reserve University schools and college offerings, and working in collaboration with deans or their designees, to ensure alignment, collaboration and differentiation with existing programs. (10%) Ensure brand identity and awareness equating Lifelong Learning at Case Western Reserve University with the university's high quality educational reputation. In coordination with University Marketing and Communications (UMC), develop targeted marketing for multiple constituencies within the Lifelong Learning market, including the local, national, and/or international community of lifelong learners, the Cleveland community and northeastern Ohio, the Jewish community, retired community, and Case Western Reserve University alumni and friends. Ensure quality learning experience to promote ongoing word-of-mouth, social media, and other campaigns for lifelong learning. (10%) Determine overall course programming needs at a high-level with staff engagement. Ensure appropriate variety in course content, duration, and geographical distribution to engage the lifelong learning constituency. Coordinate with appropriate university divisions, specifically deans, to plan and implement appropriate non-credit continuing education programming for lifelong learners. Identify university faculty who can contribute to the success of Lifelong Learning at Case Western Reserve University. Identify appropriate teaching and program space at Case Western Reserve University, Siegal College, distance learning resources and other off-campus locations as necessary to ensure maximizing geographical reach within the region. (10%) Support Siegal Lifelong Learning with continuously advancing fundraising support by working with the development office in securing commitments to support the Siegal Lifelong Learning programs through 1) program endowments
