WE ARE LOOKING FOR A LEAD MANAGER EHS (ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY)

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Lead programs that ensure sites maintain a continuous state of compliance with the Company’s internal health and safety standards

  • Support and monitor Company’s health and safety programs and standards

  • Implement health and safety programs such as lockout/tagout, hazard communication, electrical safety, working at heights, confined spaces, walking and working surfaces, hearing conservation, industrial vehicle safety, hot work NFPA life safety, PPE, contractor safety, and radiation safety

  • Lead injury and near-miss investigations and root cause analyses to develop a zero-injury safety culture

  • Support monthly health and safety performance metrics for internal reporting

  • Support on new projects and equipment for EHS risk and compliance to ensure required controls and authorizations are in place prior to commissioning

  • Support the development and lead delivery of safety training programs to ensure regulatory compliance to increase proficiency in safe practices among employees and promote safety consciousness

  • Support the development of the Driver Safety Training program content with 3rd party vendors and assure compliance with ANSI 15.1.

  • Lead the EHS pillar activities at department level for the site integrated work systems (IWS), a system for creating a zero-loss mindset and culture

  • Participate on the Safety Committee to foster a caring culture where safety is ingrained as a core value

  • Conduct site safety inspections and audits to identify existing or potential safety and health hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated

  • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities from the findings of safety inspections and audits

  • Lead review and approval of new chemicals and ensuring they are entered into the Company Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system

  • Support on periodic safety communications for the site (e.g., safety committee materials, newsletters, etc.)

  • Support oversight for the Company’s emergency response team activities including ensuring they have adequate training, equipment, and supplies

  • Support all regulatory recordkeeping and reporting is maintained and submitted in a timely manner

  • Handle programs that ensure sites maintain a continuous state of compliance with Company’s internal environmental standards and local regulations

  • Support maintenance of site’s License to Operate through Regulatory Recordkeeping & Reporting, and compliance with Regulatory Agency Inspections. Regulated Waste management, and Hazardous Waste shipments and recordkeeping

  • Ensure Environmental Emergency and Spill Response plans are in place and updated

  • Perform monthly site inspections to assess & update Environmental Compliance plans

  • Environmental Training development and delivery

  • Support the Operations ESG Workstream’s, consisting in technical groups to ideate, evaluate and build proposals to meet ESG goals.

  • Drive the analysis and feasibility assessments at local level, on Environmental-related projects

  • Support development and ensure execution of ESG Programmes targeting: Climate Change - CO2 emissions & Carbon Neutrality; Natural Resources (Water) – Alliance for Water Stewardship certification; Water Withdrawn & Recycling programs; and Waste Management – Zero Waste to Landfill & Recycling

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?

  • Do you have experience in EHS with a remote workforce within a non-controlled environment?

  • Do you have a demonstrated track record of success?

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, relevant sciences or specific environmental, health and safety discipline

  • 3+ years of relevant health and safety experience

  • At least 2 years directly supporting manufacturing sites

  • Demonstrated track record of success

  • Exude a positive attitude, are solution oriented, and have a Winning Mentality

  • Ability to prioritize activities, handle multiple projects, and achieve deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, and ability to learn proprietary databases

  • Must be able to navigate a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

  • Strong social skills: dedication to influence both internal and external partners at various levels within an organization

  • Must be able to work within a dynamic environment and shift priorities as various business needs emerge without compromising compliance.

  • Ability to challenge the status quo

  • Highly developed curiosity to drive innovation and transformation

BENEFICIAL

  • 5+ years of relevant health and safety experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of success.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable
