Full TimeHall Monitor at Glenwood High School for the 2024-2025 School Year!

Starting Pay Range $16 per hour, commensurate with experience

WHAT DO HALL MONITORS DO?

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to pass fingerprint criminal background check.

    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / REQUIRMENTS:

  • Must be agile and mobile

  • Must have visual ability to observe students over a large area

  • Must be able to walk throughout an 8 hour day, including climbing stairs

    JOB GOAL: To provide a safe and secure learning and working environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. Provide information and assistance to the public, staff and students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below but not limited to

  • Provide assistance, information, and direction to students and visitors on the campus

  • Monitors hallways and entrances

  • Assists Resource Officers/Assistant Principal as needed

  • Provides written reports of incidents that occur on campus

  • Take necessary action to maintain order on campus pursuant school policies and State law

  • Talk informally with students in the hallway and during lunch – develop rapport and trust, check student passes, and monitor lunch periods

  • Inform Resource Officer/Assistant Principal of any building security matters.

  • Maintain high visibility at all times

  • Work some security details after school

  • Take attendance for CACC students in the AM and/or PM (GHS)

  • Secure locker room doors throughout the day for Physical Education classes (GHS)

  • Conduct parking lot checks and issue citations when vehicles are in violations (GHS)

  • Sub in classrooms and administrative offices as needed (GHS)

  • Other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly pay in accordance with FLSA. Work year in accordance with recommendations established by the Superintendent of Schools and Chief School Business Official

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands : Walking 8 hour shifts, including stairs

EVALUATION: The basis of the evaluation will be the extent to which the performance responsibilities of the job are successfully handled and the extent to which yearly action plans and job goals are met.
