Job Description

We are seeking a personable and enthusiastic Golf Starter for a part-time position, responsible for greeting guests warmly and making them feel welcome. Key responsibilities include providing professional assistance and advice, coordinating the on-course experience for golf guests, and promoting the resort's interests by delivering exceptional service. The role involves operating handheld radio communication devices, effectively communicating with fellow staff members, and assisting with trail access, bike rentals, and fishing locations. Additionally, the Golf Starter will respond to assigned tasks as needed, assist in other departments when required, and attend monthly departmental meetings. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests.

Responsibilities

• Enthusiastic greeting of guests (by name if possible)

• Speak with guests in a friendly, warm manner making them feel welcome

• Display conduct in an appropriate manner at all times in accordance with the Omni Hotels

• Utilize a working knowledge of club operations

• Render professional advice, opinions, assistance, and services as required.

• Perform duties and meet requirements for tournaments, club rentals and services which the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professionals deems necessary.

• Promote the interests of the resort in providing service to the guest.

• Provide a guest friendly environment

• Coordinate the golf guest on-course experience while maintaining a positive memorable experience during their round(s) of golf and hotel stay.

  HOTEL SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to operate the hand-held radio communication device

• Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff members, valet and bell staff

• Must be knowledgeable in trail access locations, bike rentals and appropriate fishing locations

  MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.

• Assist in other departments as needed

• Attend monthly departmental meetings

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the game of golf

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to work successfully in a highly team-oriented atmosphere

• Must be able to work a rotating schedule including weekends, holidays, AM/PM Shifts
