Robert Half Staff Accountant in Birmingham, Michigan

Description We are looking to bring on board a dedicated Staff Accountant in our office located in BIRMINGHAM, Michigan. This role involves a wide spectrum of tasks including handling Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), reconciliations, and General Ledger (GL) entries, among others. The selected candidate will also be tasked with various administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

• Process invoices accurately and ensure timely payments as part of Accounts Payable (AP) duties

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

• Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries

• Generate and send invoices to clients promptly and accurately as part of Accounts Receivable (AR) duties

• Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collections

• Reconcile AR records with client payments and resolve discrepancies

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial transactions

• Reconcile client accounts, identifying and addressing discrepancies

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and reconciliations

• Provide general administrative support to the finance and property management teams

• Maintain organized filing systems for financial and administrative documents

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations as needed

• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of a Staff Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in maintaining and managing the General Ledger

• Proficiency with QuickBooks software

• Experience in handling Intercompany Accounts

• Knowledge and skills in managing Aging Accounts

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
