Insight Global Facilities Technician in Asheville, North Carolina

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our client in one of their mission critical data centers located in Asheville, NC. This person will support the maintenance of the physical facilities' conditions. Some of these duties will include climate control, power supply, generators, UPS and flywheel systems, electrical distribution and control, physical security, and monitoring systems. Technicians regularly help inspect, maintain, and repair various data center, electrical, or mechanical systems, both critical and non-critical.

Skills and Requirements

* 8-10 years of electrical experience

* Experience in mechanical/HVAC

* Mechanical aptitude to perform equipment troubleshooting and repair/ rebuild.

* Respond in a timely manner to requests for services and changes per company policy and procedure.

* Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs. of equipment; work on platforms, ladders and under raised floors * Associate's degree, trade school certification or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.

* Excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Branch Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, PDU units, HVAC AHU, CRAC and CRAH units, Fire Alarm systems, Clean-agent fire suppression systems, Pre-Action fire suppression systems

* Ability to communicate effectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems

* Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call null
