Summary

The Residential College (RC) is hiring a Community Outreach Coordinator for two community engagement programs: the Prison Creative Arts Project (PCAP) and the CEAL-Ride transportation program. You will lead community outreach strategy at PCAP and ensure that students can reach their community engagement sites using CEAL-Ride university vehicles. Though both programs run simultaneously, they have different peak activity times during the year. You will work with professional staff at PCAP and with faculty and staff throughout LSA. You will manage student staff members and will report to the RC Community Programs Business Administrator.

Responsibilities*

  • Independently develop and implement strategies for social media and traditional media, U-M and community partner relationship building, and special events that are aligned with program strategic goals.

  • Produce and manage program communications and marketing materials, upholding LSA and U-M branding and communications policies.

  • Plan an annual fundraising art auction and other special events.

  • Oversee visitor engagement at the Annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons.

  • Independently manage a transportation program, including policy reviews, user training, and service improvements.

  • Manage vehicle ride reservations, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and coordinate vehicle rentals and repairs.

Required Qualifications*

  • Two or more years of experience in program management, event planning and marketing.

  • Experience creating marketing materials, managing social media, and other forms of public outreach.

  • Experience with project management and evaluation.

  • Success working with a diverse group of team members and collaborators.

  • Familiarity with office software, social media platforms, and content management systems.

  • A valid drivers license according to the laws of the State of Michigan and meet the requirements of the Fleet Services Vehicle Operator Policy.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $43,600 to $54,500, please note a higher salary may be offered based on equity and the experience of the selected candidate.

This is a hybrid position with the option to work fully on-site. Our office is located on central campus in Ann Arbor. Staff in the RC work on campus for three days per week.
