Anticipated period of employment: 02/26/2024 to 12/06/2024.

Two month of experience is required in harvesting crops grown on a diverse organic vegetable farm. Work history and experience will be verified prior to an interview.

Workers will plant, cultivate and harvest vegetable crops. Duties include: ground preparation by removing rocks or weeds, spreading soil amendments, cultivate crops to remove weeds, moving irrigation equipment, covering crops with protective covers, pruning and trellising of crops by setting post line and netting, tying and weaving of crops to trellis. Harvesting of crops by digging, cutting or pulling, loading of trucks to remove crops from field, washing, bunching, counting and packing of crops too prepare for market or wholesale, distribution of crops to markets, stores and other distribution sites. Specific experience is required in pruning and trellising of tomatoes with an understanding of the difference between determinate and indeterminate varieties. Experience is required in harvesting and bunching of root crops and harvesting of melons and watermelons at the correct stage of ripeness including split and half split criteria.
